INSURANCE AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR WHITEMAN HOUSE WORK

These requirements, which may be higher than other buildings, help to protect the Association and the building both financially and from physical damage.

The impact of improperly certified contractors extends to the building’s own insurance. If there are problems due to unlicensed or improperly insured contractors working in the building it can have widespread negative consequences.

The best way to navigate the COI and Licensing requirements is to plan as far ahead as possible, with a minimum of 10 business days.

  1. Certificates of Insurance (COI) that meets Whiteman House’s Insurance requirements

  2. A Valid Professional License

Hand in hand with the COI, is the requirement for a valid License before any contactor enters upon the property.

REPEAT PROBLEMS THAT PREVENT ENTRY AND CREATE FRUSTRATION:

  • Many contractors are not licensed

  • Not insured or not insured properly

  • Blanket Insurance cannot be accepted

  • COI’s and Licenses expire at different times requiring updated information for each unit and each job
